    1. You are possibly right, but then again many reviews on this film shout how ambiguous it is, so we have to see. In my case, even Claire Denis with all her ambiguousness is worth watching. There will definitely be something bold and untoward there somewhere, and for me that is enough 🙂

      1. I enjoy ambiguous but sometimes I’m put-off by the slow pacing in Denis’ work. I liked Beau Travail (1999) which had vagueness and fragments of information for the viewer. Foreign directors tackling English language projects sometimes goes badly but the reviews so far for High Life are promising!

        1. I agree, foreign directors can go hit or miss with their English language productions, but then Lanthimos has not made a bad job of it at all so far, hehe.

I am not too sure about Beau Travail, but I will probably try to review either Denis’ White Material or Trouble Every Day in preparation for my viewing of High Life. Trouble Every Day is particularly appealing for me since it is part of the French Extremity movement and is considered “shocking”. I don’t think it is a great film, but there were things in it I liked (and will never forget).
